Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), a prominent “Maharatna” Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has announced a significant recruitment drive for experienced personnel in 2025. The company is seeking to fill 1543 government job vacancies on a contract basis for an initial period of 24 months or until the completion of specific projects. This recruitment is for individuals with professional experience in Transmission and Telecommunication Systems to support ongoing and future projects across various PGCIL regions and its subsidiaries.

Overview of Vacancies

PGCIL is hiring for five different positions through the Powergrid Common FTE Written Test- 2025 (Advertisement No.: CC/03/2025). The positions and their corresponding vacancies are as follows:

Field Engineer (Electrical): There are 532 vacancies for this role, with a pay scale of ₹30,000-₹120,000. The initial basic pay is ₹30,000, along with additional benefits like Industrial DA, HRA, and perks equal to 35% of the basic pay.
Field Engineer (Civil): This position has 198 openings, with the same pay scale and benefits as the Field Engineer (Electrical).
Field Supervisor (Electrical): PGCIL is recruiting 535 individuals for this role. The pay scale is ₹23,000-₹105,000, with an initial basic pay of ₹23,000, plus the same benefits as the Field Engineer positions.
Field Supervisor (Civil): There are 193 vacancies for this position, with the same salary and benefits as the Field Supervisor (Electrical).
Field Supervisor (Electronics & Communication): This role has 85 openings, with the pay scale and benefits identical to the other Field Supervisor positions.

Eligibility and Application Details

To be eligible for any of these positions, candidates must be 29 years old or younger as of September 17, 2025. Additionally, all applicants must have at least one year of post-qualification experience in their respective fields.

A non-refundable application fee is required to complete the application process:

₹400 for Field Engineer positions.
₹300 for Field Supervisor positions.

Candidates belonging to the SC, ST, PwD, and Ex-SM categories are exempt from paying the application fee.
