Indian Army 143rd Technical Graduate Course (TGC) Entry: July 2026 Commission for Engineers

The Indian Army is inviting applications for the 143rd Technical Graduate Course (TGC), offering a Permanent Commission (PC) in the prestigious Officer cadre for unmarried male engineering graduates. This course is scheduled to begin in July 2026 at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun, representing a prime opportunity for engineers to embark on a distinguished career serving the nation.

Selected candidates for the 143 TGC Entry will initially receive a Short Service Commission (SSC) on probation in the rank of Lieutenant, effective from the commencement of the course or the reporting date at the IMA, whichever is later. During this training period, cadets are entitled to the full pay and allowances of a Lieutenant. Upon the successful completion of training, cadets will be granted a Permanent Commission (PC) in the Army, continuing in the rank of Lieutenant.

A total of 30 vacancies are open across various engineering streams and related disciplines: Civil (08), Computer Science & Engineering/Computer Technology/IT/M. Sc. Computer Science (06), Electrical (02), Electronics (06), Mechanical (06), and Miscellaneous Engineering Streams (02).

To be eligible, candidates must be between 20 and 27 years of age as of July 1, 2026 (born between 02 July 1999 and 01 July 2006, both dates inclusive). Applicants must have either passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or be in the final year of the course.

In terms of compensation, the stipend during training is ₹56,100/- per month. Upon commissioning, the Lieutenant’s pay scale is on the 7th CPC Pay Level-10 (₹56,100-₹1,77,500), along with an additional Military Service Pay (MSP) of ₹15,500/- per month.
