Indian Army Technical Graduate Course (TGC-143): Permanent Commission for Engineers, July 2026

The Indian Army is inviting applications from unmarried male Engineering Graduates for the 143rd Technical Graduate Course (TGC-143). This is a prestigious opportunity for engineers to join the Officer cadre of the Indian Army and secure a Permanent Commission (PC). The course is scheduled to commence in July 2026 at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Details

Age Requirements

Applicants must be between 20 and 27 years of age as of July 01, 2026. This means candidates must have been born between July 02, 1999, and July 01, 2006 (inclusive of both dates).

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible:

  • They must have either passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or be in the final year of the Engineering Degree course.

Training and Commissioning Structure

Training Phase

Selected engineers will initially be granted a Short Service Commission (SSC) on probation in the rank of Lieutenant. This commission takes effect from the date the course commences or the date of reporting at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), whichever is later. During the training period, cadets will be entitled to the full pay and allowances admissible to a Lieutenant.

Pay and Permanent Commission

  • Stipend During Training: Cadets receive a monthly stipend of ₹56,100/- during the training period.
  • Commissioning: Upon successful completion of the 143 TGC training, cadets will be granted a Permanent Commission (PC) in the Indian Army in the rank of Lieutenant.
  • Post-Commissioning Pay: Commissioned Lieutenants will be placed in the 7th CPC Pay Level-10, with a scale of ₹56,100–1,77,500.
  • Military Service Pay (MSP): Additionally, officers are paid a Military Service Pay (MSP) of ₹15,500/- per month.

The successful candidates will receive their full pay and allowances after the successful completion of the 143 TGC training.
