Permanent Commission: Indian Army 55th 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES)
The Indian Army is inviting applications for the Permanent Commission 55th 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES) Course, which is scheduled to commence in July 2026. This is a prestigious opportunity for eligible young, unmarried male candidates who aspire to serve the nation as an officer after completing technical training.

Eligibility and Academic Requirements
To be considered for this entry, applicants must meet specific academic, age, and physical criteria.
Academic Qualifications: Candidates must have successfully passed their 10+2 examination or its equivalent. A strict requirement for eligibility is a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in the core science subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) from any recognized education board.
Mandatory Entrance Examination: Crucially, only those candidates who have appeared in the JEE (Mains) 2025 examination are eligible to apply for this particular entry scheme. Performance in this examination is essential for the initial shortlisting process.
Age Criteria: Applicants must be within the age bracket of $16\frac{1}{2}$ to $19\frac{1}{2}$ years. This means the candidate must have been born between 02 January 2007 and 01 January 2010 (both days inclusive).
Physical Standards: Candidates must meet the required physical and medical standards of the Indian Army. The minimum acceptable height is 152 cm, and the corresponding minimum weight is 42 kg. Visual acuity standards require the better eye to be $6/6$ and the worst eye to be no less than $6/18$.
Vacancies, Training, and Compensation
The scheme offers a limited number of positions, ensuring high quality selection and training.
Vacancies: A total of 90 vacancies are available for the 55th 10+2 TES course.
Commission Type and Pay: Upon the successful completion of the intensive 4-year course, cadets are granted a Permanent Commission in the Indian Army in the rank of Lieutenant (Lt.) in Arms/Services, determined by the discretion of the Army Headquarters.
During the training phase, gentlemen cadets are entitled to a monthly stipend of ₹56100/-. This is the same amount admissible to National Defence Academy (NDA) cadets upon their completion of three years of training.
Post-commissioning, Lts. will be entitled to a comprehensive pay structure under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC). This includes salary in Level-10, ranging from ₹56100-177500, along with a Military Service Pay (MSP) of ₹15500/- and various other allowances as per government rules.
Method of Selection and Interview Process
The selection process is rigorous and highly selective, focusing on technical aptitude and officer-like qualities.
Shortlisting: The primary filter for this scheme is based on performance in JEE (Mains) 2025. Only eligible candidates who meet the prescribed cut-off will be shortlisted for the subsequent stage.
SSB Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called to undergo a Services Selection Board (SSB) Interview. These interviews, conducted by a Psychologist, Group Testing Officer, and Interviewing Officer, are scheduled to take place from February/March 2026 onwards at one of the designated Selection Centres:
