Application and Examination Details

Application Fee

The standard application fee is ₹500/-.

For Reserved/Special Categories: The fee is ₹250/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST, Ex-SM, PWD, Female, Transgender, Minorities, or Economically Backward Classes (EBC).
Payment Mode: Fees can be paid online (internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI) or via payment challan at SBI / Post Offices.
Fee Refund: A partial refund is applicable upon appearing in the 1st stage Computer-Based Test (CBT).
- For the general fee of ₹500/-, ₹400/- will be refunded (deducting bank charges).
- For the special category fee of ₹250/-, the full ₹250/- will be refunded (deducting bank charges).

Selection Process

The selection process typically involves multiple stages:

Two Stages of Computer-Based Test (CBT).
Document Verification (DV).
Medical Examination (ME).

The dates for the CBTs will be announced by the Indian Railways later.

Examination Languages

To ensure inclusivity, the questions for the CBTs will be available in English, Hindi, and 13 regional Indian languages: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
