Chandigarh Sports Coaches Recruitment 2025: A Comprehensive Guide

The Sports Department of the Chandigarh Administration is conducting a recruitment drive for Junior Sports Coaches across various disciplines in 2025. This recruitment, announced via Advertisement No. 01/2025, offers a valuable opportunity for aspiring coaches to contribute to the sporting landscape of Chandigarh. Vacancies and Eligibility:

A total of eight (08) Junior Sports Coach positions are available. The distribution of these vacancies across different sports disciplines is as follows:

Pay Scale and Age Limit:

The selected candidates will receive a pay scale of ₹9300-34800/- with a Grade Pay of ₹4200/-. This pay scale will be revised according to the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) and will be equivalent to Pay Level-6 ₹35400-112400. Applicants must be between 21 and 37 years of age as of January 1, 2025.

Application Fee:

The application fee is ₹1000/- for general category candidates. Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates are required to pay ₹500/-. Persons with Disabilities (PWD) candidates are exempt from paying any application fee. Payment can be made through online modes or via a challan.

Selection Process:

The selection process comprises three stages:

Written Examination: A written examination carrying 75 marks will be conducted for a duration of two hours. Candidates must secure a minimum of 38 marks to qualify for the next stage.
Interaction/Document Verification: Candidates who clear the written exam will be called for an interaction session, which will include verification of their original documents.
Sports Achievements: A maximum of 20 marks will be awarded based on the candidates’ sports achievements, assessed according to the Technical Selection Criteria. Only the highest achievement will be considered for awarding marks.
Coaching Experience: A maximum of 5 marks will be awarded based on coaching experience in the relevant discipline. One mark will be given for each year of experience, with a maximum of 5 years considered. Experience of less than one year will not be counted.
