Indian Railways Centralised Employment Recruitment 2025: A Comprehensive Guide

The Indian Railways is conducting a large-scale recruitment drive for various Group B, C, and D positions across its Zonal Railways and Production Units. This recruitment, managed by the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), falls under the Indian Railways Centralised Recruitment for the year 2025. Eligible Indian nationals are invited to apply online through the prescribed format.

Key Recruitment Drives and Vacancies:

Two major Centralised Recruitment notifications are being released:

Centralised Recruitment 08/2024 (Level-1 Posts): This recruitment focuses on positions in Pay Level-1. The application window will be open from January 23, 2025, to February 22, 2025. A significant number of vacancies are available: 32,438 posts. These positions offer a pay scale of ₹18,000 – ₹56,900 (Pay Level-1 of the 7th CPC). The age limit for these posts is 18-36 years as of January 1, 2025.
Centralised Recruitment 07/2024 (Various Technician and Other Posts): This recruitment drive caters to various technical and other positions, including teaching and administrative roles. The online application process will run from January 7, 2025, to February 6, 2025. The available vacancies and their corresponding pay scales and age limits are detailed below:
- Post Graduate Teachers (PGT): 187 vacancies, Pay Level-8 (₹47,600-₹151,100), Age: 18-48 years.
- Scientific Supervisor (Ergonomics and Training): 3 vacancies, Pay Level-7 (₹44,900-₹142,400), Age: 18-38 years.
- Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT): 338 vacancies, Pay Level-7 (₹44,900-₹142,400), Age: 18-48 years.
- Chief Law Assistant: 54 vacancies, Pay Level-7 (₹44,900-₹142,400), Age: 18-43 years.
- Public Prosecutor: 20 vacancies, Pay Level-7 (₹44,900-₹142,400), Age: 18-35 years.
- Physical Training Instructor (English Medium): 18 vacancies, Pay Level-7 (₹44,900-₹142,400), Age: 18-48 years.
- Scientific Assistant/Training: 2 vacancies, Pay Level-6 (₹35,400-₹112,400), Age: 18-38 years.
- Junior Translator/Hindi: 130 vacancies, Pay Level-6 (₹35,400-₹112,400), Age: 18-36 years.
- Senior Publicity Inspector: 3 vacancies, Pay Level-6 (₹35,400-₹112,400), Age: 18-36 years.
- Staff and Welfare Inspector: 59 vacancies, Pay Level-6 (₹35,400-₹112,400), Age: 18-36 years.
- Librarian: 10 vacancies, Pay Level-6 (₹35,400-₹112,400), Age: 18-33 years.
- Music Teacher (Female): 3 vacancies, Pay Level-6 (₹35,400-₹112,400), Age: 18-48 years.
- Primary Railway Teachers (PRT): 188 vacancies, Pay Level-6 (₹35,400-₹112,400), Age: 18-48 years.
- Assistant Teacher (Female) (Junior School): 2 vacancies, Pay Level-4 (₹25,500-₹81,100), Age: 18-48 years.
- Laboratory Assistant/School: 7 vacancies, Pay Level-4 (₹25,500-₹81,100), Age: 18-48 years.
- Laboratory Assistant Grade-III (Chemist and Metallurgist): 12 vacancies, Pay Level-4 (₹25,500-₹81,100), Age: 18-33 years.

Application Fee:

General Category: ₹500 (₹400 will be refunded after appearing in the 1st stage CBT).
Reserved Categories (SC/ST/Ex-SM/PWD/Female/Transgender/Minorities/EBC): ₹250 (₹250 will be refunded after appearing in the 1st stage CBT).

The application fee can be paid online or through a payment challan at SBI/Post Offices.

How to Apply:

Eligible candidates should apply online through the official RRB websites. The application must be submitted in the prescribed format on or before the respective closing dates mentioned above for each recruitment drive.

Selection Process:

The selection process will consist of the following stages:

Computer Based Test (CBT): There will be two stages of CBT. Questions will be available in English, Hindi, and 13 regional Indian languages (Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu).
