SBI Circle Based Officers Recruitment 2025: Your Opportunity in Banking

State Bank of India (SBI) has announced a significant recruitment drive for Circle Based Officers (CBO), with 2964 Government Job vacancies available for the year 2025. This yearly recruitment offers a prestigious opportunity for experienced banking professionals to join one of India’s leading banks.

Eligibility and Application Essentials

To be eligible for these coveted positions, candidates must be Indian citizens and possess a Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification. A crucial requirement is a minimum of two years of experience as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or any Regional Rural Bank, calculated as of April 30, 2025. The age limit for applicants is between 21 and 30 years as of April 30, 2025.

It’s important to note that applicants can only apply for a CBO vacancy in one specific State. Successful candidates will then be posted exclusively within the Circle/State for which they were selected. Proficiency in the local language (reading, writing, and understanding) of the chosen State is mandatory and will be assessed as part of the selection process.

Compensation and Application Fee

Selected CBOs will be placed in the Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I), with a pay scale ranging from ₹48,480 to ₹85,920/-.

A non-refundable application fee of ₹750/- is required for general category candidates. However, a reduced fee of ₹125/- applies to candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PWD categories. This fee must be paid online.

Comprehensive Selection Process

The selection for SBI CBOs will be a multi-stage process, designed to identify the most suitable candidates. It comprises an Online Written Test, followed by a Screening process, and finally, an Interview.

The Online Written Test, tentatively scheduled for July 2025, will have two parts:

Objective Test: This 2-hour test will carry a total of 120 marks and consist of four sections:

English Language
Banking Knowledge
General Awareness/Economy
Computer Aptitude

Descriptive Test: Administered immediately after the Objective Test, this 30-minute component will be a Test of the English Language with two questions (Letter Writing & Essay) for a total of 50 marks. Candidates will need to type their answers on the computer.

The Interview phase will carry 50 marks, and candidates must achieve the minimum qualifying marks, as determined by the Bank, to be considered for final selection.
